At one location, they care for a diverse range of patients, from dogs and cats to small furries. This location boasts a 2-vet and 3-nurse team, with specialisations in Dentistry and Ultrasonography. The head nurse is advancing her skills in surgical nursing.
Their second branch operates as a 24-hour hospital, handling complex cases with a focus on Emergency and Critical Care (ECC). The head vet, an experienced Cambridge BOAS assessor, has a particular expertise in bull breeds.
The Role: They are on the lookout for a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to become part of the team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 RVNs/SVNs, and 2 kennel assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional inpatient care and assist with surgical procedures.
- Maintain professional and positive client relationships.
- Adhere to RCVS Nursing Code of Conduct and meet CPD requirements.
- Ensure practice cleanliness and complete rota obligations.
Daily tasks include admitting and discharging patients for routine operations, staying informed about preventative healthcare, managing product knowledge and practice policies, and conducting nurse clinics. You will also handle the correct disposal of clinical waste and maintain effective stock control and rotation. The position entails a standard working week of 5 days with occasional Saturdays (1 in 4, with a day off in lieu). Part-time positions are available. No out-of-hours (OOH) work required.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified RVN dedicated to high standards of patient care.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Team player with the ability to support colleagues.
- Professional dress code and appearance compliance.
