We’re working with a modern, fully independent small animal practice in Surrey Quays who are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team.
Hours: 4 days per week, 9am–7pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm).
No out-of-hours and no bank holidays.
Salary: £55,000–£75,000 depending on experience and certifications.
Experience required: Minimum 3 years’ experience, including confidence with sole charge when needed.
About the practice
This proudly independent clinic has grown rapidly since opening, building a loyal and friendly client base that values personalised, compassionate care. The team work with 20-minute consults, full clinical freedom and genuine support to work up cases as you see fit. You’ll work closely alongside both practice directors, with a collaborative, warm and team-led approach at the heart of everything.
Facilities include digital X-ray and ultrasound, a spacious operating theatre, two consult rooms, a dedicated RVN consult room, a separate cat ward, in-house laboratory and a comfortable staff welfare area.
The role
This is a varied first-opinion position with a strong clinical focus. You’ll deliver high standards of medical and surgical care, play an active role in case work-ups, and help continue the positive, community-focused reputation of the practice.
Duties include:
• Welcoming and consulting with clients professionally and compassionately
• Performing a range of surgical procedures
• Managing inpatients to a high clinical standard
• Diagnosing and treating a broad variety of first-opinion cases
• Maintaining detailed and accurate clinical records
• Supporting and contributing to the development of the practice

The practice is looking for someone with at least 3 years’ experience, confident with some sole charge, who brings strong communication skills, a positive team-focused attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent clinical standards.
