If you’re an enthusiastic RVN looking to join a warm, friendly, and supportive team, this could be the perfect next step. Our client is a locally owned practice supported by a larger organisation, offering the best of both worlds — independence, personality, and excellent clinical resources.

The practice enjoys a loyal client base, a varied caseload, and a strong reputation for high‑quality patient and client care. With a dedicated team of vets, RVNs, students, VCAs, and client care colleagues, this is a genuinely collaborative environment where nurses are truly valued.

This purpose‑built, modern small animal practice offers:

  • Bright, spacious clinical areas
  • Digital and dental X‑ray
  • In‑house laboratory
  • Separate dog, cat, and rabbit wards
  • Approximately 60% insured clients
  • A supportive team culture with strong clinical standards

You’ll be joining a team of 4 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN, 2 VCAs, and 5 client care assistants.

About You

  • RCVS‑registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Confident working across all areas of general practice
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care
  • Keen to learn about the business side of practice and contribute to team development
  • Comfortable supporting colleagues and working collaboratively

Whether you’re an experienced RVN or a confident newly qualified nurse, you’ll be supported to grow and thrive.

About the Role

This is a full‑time position with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota (9am–6pm) and no OOH.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Schedule 3 procedures
  • Administering medications, injections, and fluid therapy
  • Taking X‑rays and assisting with diagnostics
  • Anaesthesia and theatre support
  • In‑patient nursing, including intensive care and pain scoring
  • Triaging patients
  • Dispensing medications and maintaining accurate clinical records
  • Nurse consults and client communication
  • Working closely with senior staff to support smooth practice operations

A dedicated reception team is in place, but excellent client‑facing skills are still essential.

  • Salary from £30,000 DOE
  • CPD allowance
  • Paid RCVS and VDS memberships
  • 5.6 weeks holiday + birthday leave
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Supportive, friendly, and progressive working environment
