A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a family‑run, 24/7 RCVS‑accredited hospital offering gold‑standard emergency care, advanced facilities and a genuinely supportive team culture. This part‑time day role is ideal for a vet with strong general practice experience and an interest in ECC, surgery or inpatient care.
The hospital provides OOH and referral support to multiple surrounding practices, combining the variety of first‑opinion work with the continuity and complexity of advanced cases. A recent expansion has tripled the working space, increased flexibility in working patterns and enhanced the hospital’s ability to deliver in‑house CPD, training and progression opportunities.
The Role
This is a fixed‑pattern part‑time position working two days per week:
- Wednesday: 9:00–18:00 (consults, 30‑minute sick pet appointments as standard)
- Thursday: 9:00–20:00 (consults, 30‑minute sick pet appointments as standard)
- 1 in 4 weekends: either 7:30–18:00, 9:30–20:00 or 10:00–20:30
Weekends are ECC and booked emergency consults only, working alongside the full clinical team with management support. - No sole charge on weekends
The caseload is varied and often complex, with opportunities to work cases up to a high standard. You will have support from certificate holders in surgery, medicine and dentistry, as well as a diverse clinical team with a wide range of interests.
