We are recruiting for an experienced Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-established independent practice in Tyne and Wear. Established for over 100 years, this is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and enjoy a genuinely mixed caseload while developing your clinical skills.
The practice sees a varied caseload consisting of approximately 80% small animal, 15% equine and 5% farm work, making this an ideal role for a vet who enjoys the diversity that mixed practice provides.
This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2 years’ experience who is confident with routine consultations, surgery, and some sole charge responsibilities.

Out-of-hours support includes:
- 1 night on call per week
- Half day off following first on-call nights
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings
- 1 full on-call weekend in 6
- Additional time off following full on-call weekends
- Shared bank holiday rota
- Dedicated nursing team triaging OOH calls
- No sole-charge out-of-hours work
- Support from another vet when on call
