A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, independent GP practice on the East Sussex coast. This role is perfect for a vet who enjoys surgery, values continuity of care and wants to build long‑term relationships with clients and their pets.
If you like the idea of strolling down to the beach on your lunch break (which the team insists you take), working in a supportive environment and having no out‑of‑hours commitments, this could be the ideal next step.
One of the current vets is moving into the charity sector, creating a vacancy for a colleague who enjoys a varied GP caseload, including routine and non‑routine surgery, dentistry and consulting.
The Role
The practice can accommodate both full‑time and part‑time applicants. Everyone in the team works one evening clinic per week (finishing at 18:30) and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (finishing at 12:30). There is no out‑of‑hours work, as this is outsourced to a nearby provider.
Overtime is paid if it occurs, although running late is unusual. The practice strongly encourages a healthy work‑life balance and does not expect unpaid extra hours.
You will be based across two coastal sites, one with a single consulting room, theatre and small hospital area, and the other with multiple consulting rooms, a large theatre and a spacious prep/hospital zone.
