My client in Greater London, is in the planning stages of an exciting new phase for their business and are seeking a seasoned Head Veterinary Nurse to lead their nursing team through this transition. This full-time position offers a flexible weekend/evening rota, promoting a healthy work-life balance. The role comes with a competitive salary starting at £40,000, dependent on experience.
Role Overview: They are looking for an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse with a proven track record in managing nursing teams, coaching, and mentoring. As they embark on their refurbishment and expansion, your expertise will be crucial in helping them achieve PSS and cat-friendly accreditation. You will work closely with their excellent practice manager, managing the nursing team and implementing clinical protocols. This is a unique opportunity to join them at a pivotal moment and contribute significantly to their growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the nursing team on a day-to-day basis.
- Coaching and mentoring nurses to enhance their skills and career development.
- Collaborating with the practice manager and JVP to achieve clinical goals.
- Implementing clinical protocols and ensuring high standards of care.
- Supporting and working alongside their team of 4 vets (including a small animal medicine certificate holder) and 4 nurses, with plans to expand.
About Their Practice: They treat a variety of pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, and exotic animals. One of their vets is currently studying for a certificate in exotic animal medicine, adding to the diverse range of cases they handle. You will be part of a dedicated team including their fantastic practice manager and front-of-house staff.
