With approximately 60% of their clients insured, their busy and well-equipped practice is built to industry-leading standards. About You: As the Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of their practice, ensuring high standards of care for both patients and clients. You should be a natural leader, comfortable with setting examples, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Your role will involve managing a team, coaching and mentoring nurses and student nurses, and actively participating in the practice’s business aspects. Previous experience in a Head Nurse role is preferred, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care is essential.
About the Role: This full-time position includes working 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday 9 am-6 pm and Sunday 11 am-5 pm) with no out-of-hours duties. Responsibilities include:
- Performing Schedule 3 procedures under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966.
- Taking X-rays and assisting with diagnostics.
- Administering anesthesia, assisting in surgeries, and providing post-operative care.
- Managing in-patient nursing, including intensive care and pain management.
- Implementing HR policies and managing staff.
- Triaging patients, dispensing medications, and maintaining accurate clinical records.
- Providing excellent customer service and conducting nurse consultations.
- Collaborating with senior staff to ensure smooth daily operations and contributing to the practice’s ongoing success.
