We are recruiting for an experienced Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, independent group of practices in Tyne and Wear on an ongoing locum basis from ASAP.
This role offers a varied and rewarding caseload across multiple sites within a supportive and collaborative group. You will be working across 8 small, well-established practices, providing cover where needed and becoming part of a welcoming and appreciative team.
The caseload is primarily small animal focused, with additional equine and a small proportion of farm work, offering variety throughout your working week.
Key features of the role:
- Ongoing locum position
- 4 to 5 days per week
- Mixed caseload: approximately 80% small animal, 15% equine, 5% farm
- Work across multiple practice sites
- Sole charge responsibilities as required
- 10-minute consults supported by a strong nursing team
You will be joining a genuinely supportive and down-to-earth team who value their locums and create a positive working environment. The structure and support from experienced nurses allows vets to focus on clinical work effectively.

We are looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon with mixed animal experience who is comfortable working sole charge when needed. A full driving licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential due to travel between sites.
