A well‑established small animal practice in Nottinghamshire is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly, supportive team. This is a full‑time role offering a strong surgical caseload, excellent facilities and genuine opportunities for development.

The Practice This is a modern, purpose‑built practice with a long‑standing, close‑knit team led by an experienced practice owner with extensive clinical and leadership experience. The team includes vets, nurses, veterinary care assistants and receptionists, all working collaboratively to deliver high‑quality first‑opinion care.

The surgery is bright, air‑conditioned and equipped with:

  • Digital X‑ray
  • Ultrasound
  • ECG
  • Ultrasonic dental equipment
  • In‑house biochemistry
  • Microscope
  • Full surgical facilities

The practice is situated in a convenient, well‑connected area with easy access to major roads and local amenities.

The Role This position is ideal for a vet with a strong surgical bias who enjoys a varied caseload and is confident with a wide range of procedures. Experience in emergency and critical care is desirable. The successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting and mentoring junior vets, contributing to a collaborative and progressive clinical environment.

Key details:

  • Full‑time, 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9am–12pm)

Person Specification

  • RCVS‑registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Strong surgical skills
  • Ideally experienced in ECC
  • Confident with routine procedures and case work‑ups
  • Supportive, collaborative and proactive
  • Comfortable mentoring junior colleagues
