A friendly, supportive small animal practice in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its close‑knit team. This is a permanent role offering a healthy work‑life balance, clinical freedom and a genuinely positive team culture.

The Practice This is a 100% small‑animal, RCVS‑accredited practice with a strong reputation for excellent patient care and a warm, collaborative working environment. The team includes experienced vets, RVNs, receptionists and a Practice Manager, all contributing to a cohesive and supportive atmosphere.

The practice encourages open communication, shared learning and a psychologically safe environment where everyone can contribute. There is also access to a wider network of colleagues and additional support through the practice group.

Facilities include modern clinical spaces, dedicated consulting and surgical areas, and visiting peripatetic surgeons who support more advanced procedures and mentoring.

The Role This is a varied role combining consultations, surgery and occasional sole charge. You’ll have the autonomy to work up your own cases while benefiting from the support of a friendly, experienced team.

Key details:

  • 30–37 hours per week over 4 days
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am–2pm)
  • No OOH or Bank Holidays

Person Specification

  • RCVS‑registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Confident in general practice
  • Comfortable with a mix of consults, surgery and occasional sole charge
  • Friendly, supportive and team‑focused
  • Keen to contribute to a positive team culture

Training & Development The practice is committed to ongoing development and offers:
